  1. How can I purchase the tune book “The Psalms of David in Metre — A Supplement” other than online? I would rather just send a check in the mail.

  2. I love the Psalms. They show us that we all have struggles and we need Him to help get us tgruohh. So many times I will read the Psalms and know where they were coming from. But they also give God so much praise. I know God speaks to me tgruohh the psalms in the good times and bad. I love them because they are songs to God. That is where I feel God the most.

  3. Katsumi, I agree with you. It’s such a comfort and joy to be able sing the songs that uplifted David, the apostles, and other saints. It’s wonderful to be able to sing and pray the words knowing that those prayers are all according to His will. May the Lord continue to strengthen and encourage you in your walk with Him.

  4. I have an original copy entitled “The Book of Psalms and Sacred Harmonies” Enlarged Edition published by T. Nelson & Sons, Paternose Row Edinburgh and New York published 1871. It belonged to, and is signed Hugh Matheson May 27th 1872

What sort of value would be attached to this item?

    • Hi Ian,

This book sounds like quite a treasure. Thank you for introducing it to me and all of us. It pre-dates our current The Scottish Psalmody published by the Free Church of Scotland. Along with great helps at the beginning, it includes the 150 Psalms and numerous tunes in the split-leaf format. It also contains many Scriptures set to the tunes and some hymns.

I am sorry, but I am not knowledgeable about the value of such a book. Likely a bookstore should be able to give you that kind of information. I did locate e-books copies in a couple of libraries and also available for sale through AbeBooks.com for $10. Of course your copy would be much more valuable.
